The House!!!

I'm so excited. We closed on our house yesterday, and today we met the man who will hopefully be remodeling our kitchen. This may be my favorite part, making the house "ours", adding our own preferences to it. For the next couple weeks we will be probably be doing a lot of painting, fixing up the kitchen, and other little minor things before we move in. Here are the before pictures. I can't wait to share the progress!

Living Room - Getting painted. Future home of our piano. Aaron (and the at least 4 or 5 more guys that will have to help) will appreciate the short moving distance for the piano. : )

Kitchen - This is the main focus of remodeling. Hopefully we will be getting new countertops, new lighting, adding a opening above the sink into the family room and a few other little things.

Dining Area - Fresh paint and a new light fixture

Family Room - Fresh paint

Future Nursery - We will leave this alone for now. It will probably be the staging area for unpacked boxes.

Guest Room - Definitely getting painted

Guest Bathroom - Fresh paint

Master Bedroom - May leave alone, may get painted. I haven't decided yet. : )

Master Bathroom - Getting left alone for now as well

Backyard Pool and Deck...I'm afraid the broken basketball hoop left by the previous owners will not be staying. We are undecided on the pool. We'll keeping it for the summer to see how we like it.

More backyard...Aaron's future knife shop is getting painted too. I'm sure our dogs will do some remodeling to the gardens whether we want them to or not.

More backyard...Tree house and slide are staying, sandbox underneath is leaving as is the swing set. Also have a little fenced off garden area!

Another Song to Share

Another mommy of a snowflake angel just introduced me to this song and I just had to share it here almost immediately. It's probably a good think I didn't know about this song last weekend or I might have just sat and listened to it and cried. However it is a beautiful song and shares all of the emotions of someone that has lost a baby has felt. I hope it helps anyone going through loss.

I'm sharing a video from Youtube I found that has the lyrics with it.

Hopefully by the end of this week, I will have some happier blog posts coming. Due to delays beyond our control, we have not closed on our house yet, but we hope to do so this week. Can't wait to share pictures!

Tomorrow Will Be Kinder

I won't lie, this weekend has been rough. But we are making it. I never thought I would look forward to a Monday. Yesterday I heard a song from The Hunger Games soundtrack (great movie and soundtrack by the way) and it just hit home for me. I thought I would share it. It's called Tomorrow Will Be Kinder and it is performed by The Secret Sisters. It is a beautiful song and fit the emotions of the weekend perfectly. It always seems that God has a way of fitting something into my rough days to make them better. This song was that something for me this weekend. Hope you enjoy it.

Happy Birthday

Happy 1st birthday to my sweet, beautiful Noah. Hope you are having a huge party up there in heaven. I couldn't stand to not do anything for you today, so your daddy and I are enjoying some cupcakes down here. We love you and miss you terribly and can't wait to see you again!

Our Mini Spring Break

It worked out that I had a three and a half day weekend, so Aaron and I decided to make our own little spring break. We went down to Texas to visit A's family. We had a lot of fun!

On Saturday, we went with A's grandpa to go crappie fishing. Let me just say that while I caught the most crappie, Aaron had the most interesting fishing experience. From a fishing pole breaking to his chair sinking to the bottom of the tank, he provided the entertainment for the trip. Atleast he had a something to show for it! He managed to catch some bass to go along with our crappie. We had a great dinner that night with all of our fresh fish!

Aaron and one of his fish!

Sunday we went to church, ate at the potluck, and took long naps. Then at about midnight when we got in bed we remembered that A had scheduled our final walk through of our future house for Monday at 11:00 AM. So around 5:45 AM Monday morning (thank goodness for the long naps we took on Sunday!) we drove to McAlester in time to see our future house. So excited that we close on the house this week! Then we drove back home to relax the rest of the day while it rained outside.

All in all not a bad spring break!
